The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches us (Reconciliation) that sacramental celebration in which, through God's mercy and forgiveness, the sinner is reconciled with God and also with the Church. (Communion) Holy Communion, the reception of the Body and the Blood of Christ in the Eucharist. More generally, our fellowship and union with Jesus and other baptized Christians in the Church, which has its source and summit in the celebration of the Eucharist.
Matthew 16:19 says, "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
John 6:51 says, "I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if you anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh."
